Terms of Service
Version 1.0 · Effective 2026-04-29
Pre-alpha disclaimer
Curio is pre-alpha software built and operated as a personal project. Access is limited to a small allowlist of family and close friends. We make no uptime, durability, or backwards-compatibility promises. Your account and your tile data may be reset, schema-migrated, or deleted at any time without notice while we iterate. Do not store anything in Curio that you can't afford to lose.
Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old to use Curio. Access requires your email to appear on the operator's allowlist; without that, sign-in will fail and your account record will be removed. By using Curio you represent that you meet these requirements.
Accounts & sign-in
Curio uses Google or Discord OAuth for authentication. There are no passwords. You may link both providers to the same Curio account from the Account page. Keep your underlying Google or Discord account secure — anyone with access to those can access your Curio.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Post content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, or sexually exploitative;
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation;
- Scrape, crawl, or programmatically extract data from Curio;
- Attempt to break authentication, RLS, rate limits, or other safeguards;
- Use Curio to host malware, phishing pages, or unsolicited advertising.
Your content
Tiles, snapshots, profile fields, social links, and any other content you create remain yours. You grant Curio the limited right to store, cache, and display that content as needed to render your dashboard and (when you opt in) your public profile at /u/your-name. You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights to anything you post.
Termination
You can delete your account at any time by emailing itsrobertm@gmail.com. The operator may revoke your allowlist access (and therefore your ability to sign in) at any time, with or without notice, especially if you breach these Terms.
Disclaimers & limitation of liability
Curio is provided AS-IS, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent allowed by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost data — arising from your use of Curio. This is a hobby project, not a service-level-agreement-backed product.
Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms. Material changes bump the version above and re-prompt every signed-in user to accept on their next visit. Continuing to use Curio after a new version takes effect means you accept the new Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the operator's state of residence. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be resolved exclusively in the state and federal courts located there.
